3D MoS2/MXene Aerogel for Gas Sensing Applications In a recent investigation published in ACS Nano, scholars from Chungbuk National University have embarked upon the integration of diverse functional 2D materials within a heterostructure, presenting a promising avenue for the exploration of novel applications in chemical sensors. The study focuses on the amalgamation of two distinct 2D materials, namely MXene and MoS2, to produce a groundbreaking 3D MoS2/MXene van der Waals heterostructure aerogel. Notably, the functionalization of MXene with the catalytic layer of MoS2 proves to be instrumental in impeding the formation of HNO2, thereby significantly enhancing both the sensitivity and long-term stability of the material for the detection of NO2 gas.
