Innovative Catalysts for Efficient Conversion of Nitrate Pollutants to Ammonia The conversion of harmful nitrate pollutants in water to valuable ammonia (NH3) through electrochemical reduction is a promising avenue to address pollution and improve NH3 production efficiency. In this study, researchers explore the use of transition metal single-atom catalysts (TM-SACs) supported by N-doped graphene to develop a greener, more effective method for ammonia production. By considering a range of transition metal elements and doped nitrogen arrangements, the study identifies the most stable and efficient TM-SAC candidates for the nitrate reduction reaction. This breakthrough research holds the potential to transform energy generation and environmental pollution management. Reference
